Photo’s first, way too much text in the last update, sorry! As before, not well documented because of the bad planning. Basic painting done, base of Mr. Color Mahogany and custom mixes of “Duck Egg Grey” and “Dark Grey Green”. Decals take quite some time on the Snake Eye, there’s so many, particularly when doing two at once. I think I used as much decal solution on these two models as I have used in the past 6mths of Ma.K kits!

Both models have had the basic paintwork damaged, will put together a tutorial on this soon and show the different techniques I’ve used for different effects. Also tried a new one that Yokoyama Sensei mentioned and was surprised by it’s simplicity and really good results. More on that soon.

The standing suit has had the red of the decals re-painted with a custom mix of Gaia Notes Red Primer (left over from the Gans) and Mr. Color RLM Red. It’s just the color I was after, still very red but slightly reduced in saturation and intensity. This suit also has a filter applied of a custom mix I jokingly started calling “Kreepy Green”, of Burnt Umber Green Shade and Sap Green oils paints to enrich the basic color to get it closer to the hue I have in mind.

Lastly, I’ve tried to implement some of Mr. Adam Wilder’s “Modulation Technique” by painting some of the different details in slightly highlighted and different versions of the base colors in an event to add interest and volume to the model and break it up a little.
