WAVE S.A.F.S. Super Armored Fighting Suit part 2
Next up I’ve applied the decals as per the box instructions straight to the paintwork, as it’s already a semi-gloss finish from the excellent Mr. Color paints. Great quality decals and they go on very nicely. I trim them with fine scissors and a hobby knife to eliminate excess film.
Letting the decals dry over night, I next decided to liven up the green color on the model and added in some lighter versions of the base, Mr. Color Grey Green and Mr. Color Duck Egg Green. Thinned and stippled into places where light will hit the surfaces from above and to make it more visually interesting. Next I did a little with the grey as well by adding more RLM Light Blue to the Grey mix. I find grey challenging to highlight as too much light blue and it’s too blue and chalky so am careful here.
Lastly some very light and careful spotting of details to enhance the surface developed through the hand brushing of the first steps, to strengthen, deepen and highlight apparent damage to the finish and then a couple of very light and careful drybrushing runs with the above colors and also with Mr. Color Propeller Color and Mr. Color Flat Black.
