Wave Snake-Eye with Mig Productions Oil and Grease Stain Mixture
Mini review and product recommendation. Recently I have liked to add some grease and oil stains to the joints and workings of the Maschinen Krieger suits. There are many ways to do this, I’ve used Tamiya Enamel Smoke mixed with pigments, also adding Tamiya Enamel Clear Yellow and Clear Orange and that works well too as does a mix of burnt umber and black oil paints with clear gloss.
So why did I buy and use this? Well, curiosity of course had a big part but now I am using it because it’s extremely fast and easy as well as being good. Open the top, 5 to 10 second spin with my paint mixer and it’s ready to go. I applied it like a pin wash here to the knee joint of the Wave Snake-Eye suit and then feathered it out towards the bottom to produce the oil/grease drip and runs by using a pointed brush damp with Tamiya Enamel Thinner. Applied a little pigment before trying for the lunar dust sticking to the oil/grease. I found it fine to use straight from the bottle
Nice result, fast and easy.
Hope someone finds this useful, thanks for looking. More pics of my Snake-Eye here if you are keen. ^^
